Hydrate Spark 2.0 Smart Bottle Review

Drinking the amount of water you should be drinking a day is difficult and the amount of water you should be drinking varies from person to person. Studies have proven over and over again that water is incredibly important to our health. Water will improve your health, improve bodily functions, can make you look younger, and be more productive.

On the flip side, not drinking enough water can lead to headaches, digestive issues and even bad breath! In the world of endless gadgets there have been a few new inventions that can help us drink more water and improve our health. The gadget we will look at today is Hydrate Spark 2.0.

What is Hydrate Spark 2.0?

Hydrate Spark 2.0 is a smart hydration bottle and app that together aim to increase your water intake and improve your health. The duo will help you keep track of how much water your drink throughout the day and give you little reminders to stay hydrated.

How Does Hydrate Spark 2.0 work?

This sleek smart water bottle connects to your phone through BlueTooth, When you set up the app you can get a daily goal of how much water you would like to drink. There are a few steps you have to take to set up the system before you start using it. The process is fairly simple and involves making sure that the sensor rod cap is screwed on tightly and snapping the rod onto the lid. After you do this you can pair the bottle to your phone through the app. From here you will need to remove the lid to fill the water bottle. You can empty and refill your bottle at any time as long as you do so by removing the lid (so your reading don’t get affected).

One of the things you will do when you set up the app is enter personal information like height, weight, age, etc. and the app will automatically calculate the amount of water you should be drinking a day. You can use this information and set your goal or you can manually adjust your goal.

Hydrate Spark 2.0 Design

Hydrate Spark 2.0 is a very sleek looking water bottle and about the same size as your regular, standard water bottle holding up to 24 oz of water. The bottle comes in six different colors: black, green, pink, purple, teal, and white. The body of the bottle is make of BPA-free plastic with a diamond patterned design that matches the flip cap. While the bottle is made of plastic, I found it to be pretty grippy so you shouldn’t have to worry about it slipping out of your hands. There is a button on the lid that when pressed will “pop” the cap open so you can drink out of it. When you close it make sure you press it closed until you hear a “click”.

Hydrate Spark 2.0 App Features

To connect the bottle to your phone you will need to download the Hydrate app, available from the Apple App store or Google Play store. When you open the app you will be guided through the set up process. One thing you will have to do to get started is calibrate the sensor. To do this you will have to fill up your water bottle to the fill line and let it stand on a flat surface for about ten seconds.

Overall the app is sleek and very well designed. It’s easy to navigate and use. The main screen of the app will show a large blue circle that depicts your daily hydration progress. Underneath that you will find information like the percentage of your goal reached, an estimation on how many bottles of water you have let to drink to meet your goal, and how you rank among your friends. Top of the screen is a quick snapshot of how hydrated you’ve been for every day of the last week.

One thing you will have to do is make sure that you are synced to your phone every other day or so, this way you won’t lose any of your data. Another cool feature of the app is that it can connect to other fitness apps like Apple Health, FitBit, Jawbone, etc. If you connect to another fitness app Hydrate Spark will adjust the amount of water you should be drinking based on data collected by those other fitness apps.

The bottle fits standard cup holders and backpacks. It also as a map feature you can activate. With this feature it will track the location of your drinking so that if you were to leave it somewhere you can open the map and see the last place you used it!

Hydrate Spark 2.0 Drink Reminders

This water bottle really will help you remember to drink more water throughout your day. It signals you that it’s time to drink by glowing! It’s a very gentle and non disturbing way to be reminded. If you are falling behind on your hydration goals the bottle will begin to glow to remind you that it’s time to take a drink. You can make changes to the frequency of the glowing through the setting on your app.

If your bottle is out of sight more often than not you can also enable push notifications to remind you to hydrate. I find push notifications annoying and distracting so I prefer the glow from the bottle.

Where to buy Hydrate Spark 2.0 and Price

So far the best place to buy your Hydrate Spark 2.0 water bottle is through Amazon.com. The price will vary basing on the color you choose. The majority of the colors are sold for $54.95 but (at the time this review was written) the Teal color option (NEW) was only $8.00 (+$4.49 shipping)!!! I think that $55 for a water bottle that helps you stay hydrated is not a bad price, especially when most quality water bottles are usually about $30 anyways. But if you can get a Hydrate Spark 2.0 for only $8.00 BUY IT NOW! Click here to Check Price on Amazon.

Final Verdict

If you are looking for something to help you stay hydrated than a Hydrate Spark 2.0 is a great choice! The glow is a great way to get reminders and it’s awesome that it can pair with other fitness apps. Overall I think its a quality product the only downside for some people might be the $55 price tag. If you think that is too much for a water bottle than I would suggest looking into Ulla ($25 but no app), you can learn more about Ulla by reading my Ulla Review. Hydrate Spark 2.0 is my choice when it comes to a smart water bottle and it’s really been helpful in terms of helping me stay hydrated!
