Design/Specs

The Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher is made from high-quality medical grade titan plastic and BPA free. Another feature that is a design improvement is a “water dam” which keeps unfiltered water the is in the top reservoir from getting into the filtered water when you are pouring.

This allows you to safely pour water into your glass without having to wait for all the water to filter through completely.

‍Capacity: 2 Quarts

‍Material: Medical Grade Tritan Platic

Filter life and Replacement

The average life of the pitch filter is about 4 months. It will all depend on how much water you use. They recommend that you replace the filter every 100 gallons. 4 months is about average, but it all depends on how much you use the filter.Unfortunately, there isn’t any indicator or automatic usage measurement that will tell you how many gallons you have filtered or when to change the filter. The best you can do is a rough calculation to estimate when it might be time for a new filter. The top reservoir of the pitcher holds 1/2 a gallon. If you fill it twice a day, you are filtering 1 gallon. If this seems to be your average than the filter should be replaced about every 100 days. The good news you don’t have to remember to buy a new filter if you sign up for the subscription program which will automatically deliver a new filter to your door every 2,3,4,5 or 6 months. You can pick how often you would like a filter to be delivered

Replacement filters are available to be purchased online. They have “VIP” filter program that can get you 15% off on replacement filters.

How to Prime a New FilterReplacing the filter is very straightforward. The first thing you should do before putting in the new filter is “prime” it.You do this by letting the filter soak in a bowl of water for 15 minutes. This is not required, but it’s recommended to help the water flow better initially. You can soak it longer or even overnight

Prime the filter

PRO TIP: You will notice that the filter tends to float so the best way to get it to stay underwater and completely soak it is to soak the new filter inside the pitcher.

  1. Remove the lid and pull out the top reservoir.
  2. Fill the pitcher 2/3 with water.
  3. Place filter inside the pitcher.
  4. Put the top reservoir and lid back in the pitcher
  5. The filter should be pushed down to be completely under the waterline
  6. Leave for 15 or more minutes

After you prime the filter, unscrew the old filter and screw on the new filter.

Reviews and Testimonials

‍My Experience:My Water in Puerto Rico: As some of you more frequent readers know, I live in Puerto Rico, and the water system is not always functioning at the best capacity and quality.During the dry season, we will occasionally have water shortages where water will be turned off every other day. The officials' actually advise people to boil water before drinking it when it first turns back on!While the water is drinkable, I am often conserved at the quality of the tap water. A water filter pitcher is definitely a must for me. When you really look into the filter quality and performance, it’s a no brainer to pick Clearly Filtered over Brita.

‍Choosing Clearly Filtered over Brita: Clearly Filtered is more expensive than Brita but they have a much better product. Clearly Filtered actually removes far more chemicals and has a longer filter life.If you research and compare the two brands, you’ll see that the only thing Brita is good at is marketing to make people feel better about drinking water that they think is free from chemicals. You really can’t even compare the two, and it actually makes me angry that I was actually considering getting a Brita pitcher before I found about Clearly Filtered. One thing that I did like about Brita pitcher was the digital numbers on the top that tell you when its time to change the filter or how much water you filtered. I wish Clearly Filtered had something similar. But at the end of the day, I would rather than a Water Pitcher that is better infiltration and performance than a pretty colorful design that fails to remove any significant tap water contaminants. The first thing that I wanted to know was what makes with water pitcher better than Brita? Or if it even was better than Brita water pitchers?I think that Brita water pitchers are so popular because they are pretty cheap to buy and their marketing campaigns did an excellent job with making it well known. However, when you look into the Brita filtration and compare that too Clearly Filtered, it is easy to see they are VERY different in performance.

‍Filter Replacement: Brita only lasts 40 gallons, Clearly Filtered lasts 100 gallons

‍Reduce vs. Remove: Brita actually only official claims to “reduce” contaminants in water, they do not say they completely remove anything. Brita focuses on contaminates they have a taste, color, or odor. The customer believes all the continents have been removed since the water tastes better. In reality, most continents do not have any noticeable taste or smell.

‍Price/Value: Clearly Filters costs more than Brita and for a reason. Brita is made cheaply and targeted at uninformed customers who think feel better drinking from Brita pitchers because they believe Brita has actually removed continents in their water.Clearly Filtered is actually removing (not just “reducing”) over220 chemicals and contaminants that are found in tap water. Their filtered are put to the test by third parties and have met the NSF standards.Another thing that that is worth mentioning is Clearly Filtered Water Pitchers removed Flouride by up to 98%, and Brita filters do not.You can read more about the difference in performance between Clearly Filtered and Brita and see video demos that compare the two filtration pitchers.
