In this Eufy Smart Scale C1 review, I will walk you through everything you need to know about this Smart Scale, my own experience, helpful tips, and how it works. My goal is to hopefully help you make an informed decision before you buy a smart scale and to help you get the most value out of your purchase.

Eufy Scale Design

The Eufy Smart Scale C1 is available in two colors black or white. It is on par with the other more expensive models.

The Eufy Scale is display large and very easy to read. The display will only show your weight. You will need to open the Eufy Life app to view other metrics.

The top of the scale has a smooth tempered glass surface. At the top of the scale is a large display that will read your weight. Your weight is the only measurement that will be displayed directly on the scale. To view your other measures, you can open the App.

I like that the design is modern and stylish. I feel like this scale smoothly goes with any bathroom decor.

The scale is water resistant, so you don’t have to worry about steam during hot showers or small splashed. Be careful not to step on the scale with super wet feet as you might split.

This smart scales runs on 3 AAA batteries that are included in the box! The batteries should last about one year. You can switch from lbs to Kg by pressing the UNIT button on the back of the scale.

The scale has four sensors that measure weight, body fat, BMI, water, muscle, bone, basal metabolic rate (BMR), and visceral fat. It connects to your smartphone with Bluetooth and sync s the data so you can quickly view it through the Eufy App.

Some of the metrics you can view in the app are your lean body mass, body fat mass, bone mass, and muscle mass. The Eufy app can connect with third-party apps like Apple health, Google Fit, and Fitbit.

• BMI: (Body Mass Index) Calculated by your height and weight.

• BMR: (Basal Metabolic Rate) This is the amount of energy your body uses just to perform it's basic functions day to day. BMR is based on your age, gender, height, and weight.
• Visceral Fat: This type of body fat is stored in the abdominal cavity.
• Body Fat Mass: This is the total body fat mass in your body.
• Lean Body Mass: This is the amount of your body weight that is not fat.
• Bone Mass: The total mass of bones in the body, also known as bone density.
• Bone Mass %: This is the percentage of bone mass compared to the total body mass. The average bone mass percentage for adults is between 3% and 5%. Bone mass can decline slowly as we age so this is a useful metric to keep track of over long periods of time.
• Muscle Mass: The total mass of muscle in your body.
• Muscle Mass %: Calculated by taking the total muscle mass divided by the total body mass.

How Does it Work?

The Eufy Smart Scale measures data around your body composition. You will need to stand on the scale with barefoot since the scale needs to have direct contact with your skin to measure data accurately.

Two useful metrics Eufy measured that are not usually measured by other smart scales in your basal metabolic rate and metrics for visceral fat.

Basal Metabolic Rate: This is the minimum number of calorie your body uses to perform its essential functions from day to day.

Visceral Fat: This is a measurement go the fat surrounding internal organs and in your abdomen. It has is used as an indicator of health risks such as diabetes.

Set up and how to use Eufy Smart Scale

Getting started with the Eufy is very easy. Once you open the box and install the four batteries, you will need to download the EufyLife App. The app is available for both Apple iSO and Android.

1. Open the app and create an account
2. To pair the app with the scale press the button in the top right corner of the app and select the Smart Scale.
3. It will ask you to input some necessary information like your age, gender, height, and target weight.

The Eufy app is nicely designed and easy to navigate. It will show you your data like weight, body fat percentage, BMI, and the time and date of your last measurement.

You can also see more details like trend graphs for your body fat, weight, and muscle mass.

Each of the measurement stats will have a color-coded indicator that will tell you if you are in the low, normal, high, or excessive range. The result depends on your age, gender, and height.

You can also get more information by tapping on the metric. You can see how it is calculated, a breakdown of healthy ranges and a short explanation. One cool feature is that you can add a family member.

Overall, Eufy does a great job of making the data it gathers easily understandable, and the app is very visual and makes it easier to understand your body, identify areas where you could improve, and help you manage your overall health.

Testing, Performance, and Accuracy

The Eufy Smart Scale C1 is an improvement over the old model, and one of the areas they improved on is the accuracy. The C1 improved its efficiency by 10% by having a total of 4 sensors on the face of the scale.From what I could tell, the scale was accurate, but they do have a few tips to ensure you are getting accurate readings:

1. When you first use the scale after you put in the batteries, wait until it displays ”0.0” before you step on the scale.
2. Do not move while your measurements are being taken
3. When you are done with a measurement, wait until the scale turns off before moving it or picking it up.

Cons

No Pregnancy Mode: One this one thing to aware of it the most Smart Scales (this one included) measure body composition by sending a slight electrical signal through your feet. This is not something you will feel, and it is safe for most users. However, if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker, it is not advised that you use this. Unfortunately, there is not a way to turn this off with this scale. There are pricer options from QardioBase 2 and Shapa that can disable this feature.

‍Privacy: You can add multiple users, and the scale can change automatically deferent between users. However, while you can add a user from your account, all the data is available to be viewed with everyone that is connected to the account. This is just something to take into account if you decide to share the scale with a roommate, friend, or family member.

My Experience:Eufy did a great job of differentiating between different users. I created and added four additional users and had family members step on and off the scale at different times of the day for a couple of weeks. The Eufy scale was able to tell the difference between all the different users.I like that the smart scale can store up to 120 reading at a time. This means that you don’t need to have your smartphone with you to collect and record data. I can step on quickly during the day and not have to think about finding my phone to save the data.I used an iPhone 7, and I synced my Eufy scale/app with the Apple Health app. The readings from the Eufy app update on App Health each time I sync it and its very quick to do so.Overall, I am really happy with the Eufy Smart Scale, it looks great and with all the measurements and data it gives you access too, it's a great value!
