Review Summary

If you're looking for headphones that will stay in your ears while you run, then RunPhones are the perfect option. They have a unique design that keeps the earbuds in place, even when you're sweating or moving around.

In this article, I will review my Bluetooth wireless RunPhones and discuss why they are the best option for running headphones.

😍Things that are really great:

RunPhones from Acoustic Sheep are a great option for those who want ultra-comfortable, tiny headphones to sleep, exercise, travel, or just sit back and unwind without the bulk of big headphones.

They'd also make an excellent earbud and headphone alternative for youngsters.

Black RunPhones

Cold & hot weather: RunPhones are great for hot and cold climates. In the heat, they keep sweat from your eyes (RunPhones moister-wicking band is washable). In the cold they double as an ear warmer. But there are options Winter and Summer RunPhone options. The winter RunPhones use a thicker fleece fabric.

Secure and stable: The headband design is secure and I don't have to struggle with keeping ear buds in place during my run or workout. There isn't a connecting cable that hangs around my neck.

Safe: If you are a runner, you understand the importance of being aware of your surroundings, and using headphones that block out all noise is dangerous. RunPhones advertise that they “allow ambient noise.” This is an important safety feature that people often overlook.

Sizes & colors: There are three sizes to choose from: Small, Medium, and Large. Colors options include black, navy, orange, pink, and green plaid.

Battery-life: These RunPhones have a new 24-hour playback. I can go on many runs before needing to recharge. No longer am I gearing up to run only to find out I need to charge before heading out.

Comfortable: RunPhones are made of a soft fabric that is wicking, breathable, durable, and lightweight. I find the headband comfortable, and doesn't smell.

  • Sport-style Headband
  • Superior Sound With Eco-friendly, Lead-free Electronics
  • Hypoallergenic Fabric
  • Hidden Seams & Closure
  • Light, wicking washable fabric

🤔Areas for improvement

Controls: the volume and power controls are on the small panel inside the headband but the raised buttons are hard to locate. I have to feel around for a while to find the right button. If these buttons where larger they would be easier to find.

Charging: uses a Micro USB charger. Would be great to upgrade that to Type-C.

🏃Why RunPhones are better for running than my AirPods and other headphones.

RunPhones vs other options

I tried other running headphones with a connecting wire between each earpiece, but the wire bouncing was annoying and would get tangled in my ponytail.

Common problems I've had over the years with more earbuds, headphones, etc. than I can remember:

  • They fall out of your ear
  • In-ear buds build up gross gunk
  • Block too much notice (you should always be aware of your surroundings)
  • The cord is too long or not long enough
  • The Bluetooth connection is not stable and don'e pair well
  • Sweat can ruin them
  • Too complicated to use
  • Short battery life

I have not had any of those issues with my wireless RunPhones!

RunPhone vs. AirPods

I used to run with my AirPods 2nd Gen, which was ok initially, but I worried about them falling out. On two occasions, one AirPd did fall out, and the small aluminum part popped out.

I didn't know it popped out until I realized it didn't charge 😑.

I upgraded to the third-gen and they don't fit as well, so there is no chance I would even consider them for running.

🎶Final thoughts

RunPhones are made with a sweat-resistant and comfortable material that won't slip out of your ears. They also have a built-in microphone so you can take calls without having to remove your headphones.

The sound quality is excellent and allows for background noise so you have be aware during your run. They are great for more than just running. I use them for walking my dog, hiking, yoga, at the beach, and so much more.

If you're looking for a pair of running headphones that will stay in place and provide great sound quality, then RunPhones are the perfect option for you.
