Wolven is an activewear brand owned by Kiran Jade, a woman of South Asian heritage who wanted to create a stylish and sustainable clothing line. They produce colorful and intricately-patterned clothing made from recycled plastic bottles, which means it's stylish and sustainable. 

The company works with local communities in India to support fair labor practices and recycling efforts. While its pieces are most popular among yogis, Wolven clothing can be worn for other everyday activities.

They're also working on campaigns, and it's not just sustainability—we couldn't agree more! 

Diversity Wise

To be more inclusive, Wolven features models of different races and genders. In addition to making their customers feel more welcome, this will also help them learn more about what makes them feel good about themselves while wearing their clothes. By including models representing various body types and ethnicities, they can expand an understanding of what "diversity" truly means.

Practicality

When you're ready to pass your Wolven activewear on, you can sell them on the pre-loved section of their site. One day, it would be great to see a recycling program for their activewear that's not too worn to be resold.

Wolven pieces are shipped in recycled packaging. The mailer is 100% recycled poly or a paper box, and the items are wrapped in hemp twine.

What are Wolven’s clothing made from?

Wolven’s clothing is made from recycled plastic bottles. Recycled plastic bottles are a controversial material for activewear because they still shed microplastics as a synthetic fabric and are not infinitely recyclable like a natural fiber would be.

Since the activewear industry needs sweat-wicking and stretchy fabrics, recycled synthetics are one of the only good options currently. Wolven’s fabrics are Global Recycled Standard and Oeko-Tex certified, which means the fabric is made from actually-recycled materials.

My Experience with Wolven:

Wolven has sent me some of their products, such as the Zephyr Midi Bike Short and Zephyr Keyhole Top. There are many brands that I love and respect, but Wolven is one of those brands that I feel is special because it gets to the heart of what I want in terms of quality clothing.

Zephyr Keyhole Top

The Zephyr Keyhole Top is a great choice for anyone who wants to look polished, but still be comfortable on a hot day. This halter-style top has a keyhole cut-out that reveals just enough skin, and the fabric is light enough that you'll feel cool even when it's hot outside.

The best part about this top is that it can easily be worn as a solid or as a print. The solid side reverses to show off the print, and vice versa. This makes it easy to add versatility to any outfit — especially if you love prints!

Zephyr Midi Bike Short

The Zephyr features a central serpent totem, representing the power of transformation — shedding and a new beginning. It has two slip pockets that are big enough for an iPhone, and it's made using post-consumer recycled plastic — 84% RPET and 16% spandex.

What I love about the Zephyr is that it comes in different designs, so you can wear it on a night out with friends or any other occasion where you want to look your best. The high waistband and crossover design look great on everyone. It hides all those problem areas while making you feel confident, sexy, and ready to take on anything!
