Best Exercises Based on Body Type

Body type is just another example of how unique we are. The "one-size-fit-all" mentality does not apply in the work of fitness. Our bodies are different and will respond differently to workouts and diets. The way your body is shaped can give you a advanage if you are doing to right workout. Here is a quick run-down of what summer workout is best based on your body type!

Heart Body Shape and Yoga

If you have a "heart" body shape than your chest and shoulders are wider than your hips. This gives you an advantage when it comes to workouts that invlove holding up your own body weight. A prime example is yoga.

Yoga is a great way to strengthen the core, chest and upper back. Overall, yoga will help to stretch and lengthen your body. You'll also improve your balance! Yoga is the ultimate workout when it comes to creating a strong yet lean figure.

There are many different styles of yoga and you should experiment until you find the yoga style that best suites your taste. Yoga can be a great weight loss tool! If you are looking to shape up and lose some weight with yoga than your best bet is trying the Yoga Burn program! If you want to try different styles of yoga and go at your own pace, YogaDownload.com offers thousands of instructional videos.

Hourglass Shape and Running

You are an hourglass shape if your hips and chest are proportional to each other. Running is a great cardio workout that is amazing for people with the hourglass shape. Running can help you slim down and it really works the hips, butt, and tones your legs. Running up hills or stars will give you an even better workout while really working your gultes.

If your goal is overall toning the best option is to use running as a basic cardio workout and then incorporate strength training or high intensity interval training to really start burning fat. My favorite type of strength training doesn't involve any weights. In fact, all you need is your own body and no other equipment. Bodyweight Burn and Bikini Body Workouts are two of my favorite strength training workouts that will build sexy, lean muscles.

Rectangle Shape and Pilates

Your body is a "box" shape if your chest, waist, and hips are about the same width. If so then you should really try pilates! Pilates is a great workout to build and strengthen core muscles. You'll build muscle strength, improve muscle tone and benefit from correct alignment and restored posture. Pilates can also help you increase your flexibility.

Pear Shape and Strength Training

If you are a pear shape then you have hips and thights that are the widest part of your body. In many cases, pear shaped bodies also struggle with loseing weight around the hips and thighs. This is why strength training is your best firend. Strength training will help you build lean muscles while burning fat and calories at a faster rate than cardio.

Strength training will also increase the "after burn" effect, meaning you will be burning calories long after you finish your workout. Like I've said before, my two absolute favorite strength training programs are Bodyweight Burn and the Bikini Body workout series!

Regardless of your body shape of the workout you're doing, any workout is better than sitting on the couch! To see result just stay motivated and be consistent!
